January 22, 2010 | MY LIFE AS LIZ : I am pleased to announce that "Dancin' in the Wind" will be featured in MTV's My Life as Liz. On Monday January 25th at 10:30pm EST the third episode of the series will air with the track from the 2007 release Orchestra For The Moon. Watch the MTV trailer HERE. December 10, 2009 | JENN GRANT TAKES ON THE SYMPHONY : On February 19, 2010, Jenn will team up with Symphony Nova Scotia at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium. Jenn will be performing with over 30 amazing musicians as she sings songs from her latest album Echoes and her debut record, Orchestra for the Moon. December 17, 2009 | JENN GRANT'S CULTURAL OLYMPIAD TOUR : Jenn is thrilled to be taking part in a coast to coast Cultural Olympiad tour happening in January. She'll be sharing the western leg of the tour with Jason Plumb & The Willing as they head from Manitoba to Alberta. She will also be playing at the Whistler Village as part of the Olympics. NOV 19, 2009 | We were honoured to learn that Jenn won Best Female Artist Recording for Echoes last week at the Nova Scotia Music Awards. And we are thrilled that she is up for CBC Radio 3 Bucky Award for Best Video for "You'll Go Far" (which if you haven't seen yet, you can see here. And we laughed when we discovered that Jenn is also up for the other "visual" award for best off-stage performace "Jenn Grant's Awkward Interviews." You can vote on the Radio 3 website. Polls close on November 29th at midnight. NOV 19, 2009 | JENN GRANT: TOUR DE FORCE After a week spent in Yarmouth, NS for Nova Scotia Music Week, where Jenn performed with pals like Joel Plaskett and Classified, Jenn kicks off her mini tour in Ontario and Quebec next week. Starting off in Kingston at a beautiful church, Jenn hits London's Call the Office, the gorgeous and historical Glenn Gould Theatre and Montreal at Il Motore.
NOV 12, 2009 | GOULD GOLD! Only a few weeks left to get your paws on the last few remaining tickets for Jenn's glorious Glenn Gould show on November 26 in Toronto. Jenn will be bringing the house that Glenn built down with a full band and a full heart. Don't miss it! NOV 4, 2009 | SURFS ICE BURGS. Defining busy in a whole new way, Jenn bused, trained and planed all over the place this October, dashing from New York college music festival CMJ, to hometown Halifax Pop Explosion, then back to the US on tour with Hawksley Workman. Now catch her on screen as she drifts by on ice burgs... sort of. Earlier this fall, JG set off for northern Newfoundland to film a new video for You'll Go Far. The video features majestic ice burgs. OCT 31, 2009 | PATSY CLINE REINCARNATE. Catch Jenn in Halifax on Halloween at The Company House, where she'll croon and you'll swoon then give money in your Batman costume for this fundraising bash. OCT 28, 2009 | NYC WINO? After taking a bite of of The Big Apple during CMJ last week, Jenn hones in on the folks at the City Winery tonight in New York City, opening for Hawksley Workman at the Manhattan venue. You can catch her set at 8 pm... and then stay on for some awesome Hawk action. OCT 23, 2009 | EXPLODING WITH POP! Winging back from New York & the CMJ Marathon, Jenn goes to work back home during Halifax POP Explosion. She'll be playing the lovely St. Matthew's United Church, delving into her assorted bag of folky-pop gems. OCT 21, 2009 | NEW YORK, NEW YORK! CMJ has laid down its jacket and held out its sweaty, nervous hands for Jenn Grant as it receives her lovely tunes on October 22 at Googie's Lounge. Jenn hits the stage after Midnight... then continues to CMJ it up in the city that never sleeps. OCT 19, 2009 | MAKING IT WORK! Kicking off in the home of The Bears, The Bulls and The Cubs, Jenn makes the long haul to Chicago to kick off a mini-tour with her ol' tourmate, the dashing Hawksley Workman. Jenn plays several US dates with Monsieur Workman as they take the high road to New York and Philadelphia. Jenn makes her debut appearance in Pittsfield, MA somewhere in between New York hot dogs and Philly cheese steaks. Check the tour dates for more details. OCT 15, 2009 | PRODUCER OF THE YEAR NOMINATION. Jonathan Goldsmith has been nominated for Producer of the Year by the Canadian Folk Music Awards for his work on Echoes. Congrats Jonathan! OCT 12, 2009 | JENN WANTS YOUR VOTE FOR GREAT CANADIAN SONGQUEST. CBC has launched an epic Canadian song contest called Great Canadian Songquest, which pits provincial artists against one another in a battle for glory, honour and Canadian tunesmithery. Jenn "P.E.I stands for Punches Eyes In" Grant is one of the songwriters penning for her childhood home province of PEI. Jenn's been busy making a list of all her favourite places in Eastern Canada... and she's also been harder at work rehearsing for her upcoming mega-tour with the debonair Hawksley Workman, who will be headlining an East Coast tour starting next week. Aside from showing H. Workman around for a week, Jenn opens all seven of his dates, starting in Fredericton, NB at The Playhouse Theatre. SEPT 4, 2009 | JENN GRANT's O' CANADA! Our friends at The Line of Best Fit fell head over heels over the border for Jenn and her music... so much so that they included her in their amazing Canadian music compilation, aptly titled Oh! Canada. Jenn hits Mariposa Folk Festival this weekend in Orillia, ON on the same night as fellow Six Shooterers, Luke Doucet and Royal Wood. After her two days at the legendary folk fest, Jenn is off to Sudbury today to play the Northern Lights Festival. July 7 | CBC Radio 3 teamed up with the lovely JG to conduct "Awkward Interviews" in Toronto during NXNE. June 19 | Last night at Lee's Palace, Jenn joined one of the most prestigious line-ups in musical history as Outlaws & Gunslingers presented in the round sets from Jim Cuddy, Royal Wood, Oh Susanna, Jason Plumb, Kevin Hearn, Luke Doucet, Justin Rutledge, NQ Arbuckle and performances from Elliott BROOD, the Skydiggers and The Swallows. If you missed her last night and shame on you if you did you can see her tomorrow at the Six Shooter BBQ (1118 Queen ST. E, 2-6 pm). June 12 | Jenn Grant at WestFest tonight! Keep an eye out for her on CBC's Creative Block, as the crew catch up with her at Ottawa's festival before she heads to Toronto for a starstudded performance at Lee's Palace for NXNE. June 9 | After resting up from her hectic touring schedule earlier this year in support of Echoes, Jenn returns to Ontario for a night at WestFest, dates with Danny Michel, a stop at NXNE and her premiere headline tour of Canada's West Coast. June 5 | Jenn Grant is set to hit Montreal's FringePop for a lovely little set on Sunday, June 14. Keep an eye out for her stocking up on bagels that weekend! May 25 | Atlantic Voices Jenn was featured on the new Warner compilation, Atlantic Voices, which showcases the amazing talents of east-coast musicians and songwriters. The compilers of said compilation loved Jenn so much that they even used one of her paintings for the album's cover artwork. APRIL 15: GO GREEN! | Jenn “G is for Green” Grant will walk, skip, jump and run her way to Toronto to perform at Toronto’s Green Awards on April 23. The awards honour those who are making a difference in trying to change our environment for the better. MARCH 5: SXSW SPECTACULAR! | If all that other traveling around doesn’t make her a world class jetsetter, Jenn will unpack, repack and unpack her bags when she touches down in Austin, TX March 18 to kick off SXSW in style. Chosen out of thousands of applicants, Jenn will breeze in to warm the hearts of those tough Texans, who, uh, will be warmed also by her unmistakable voice (and the Austin heat). As the saying goes, everything’s bigger in Texas...including Jenn’s dress collection. FEBRUARY 13: UK BOUND | After a slew of packed-like-sardines headline shows in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia, Jenn is headed overseas to the UK for some dates around her other-other old stomping grounds. The two week voyage will include a special trip to Ireland to satisfy all those St. Patrick’s Day urges before March sets in.
